Frequently asked

Which books can I use Asfar with?

Any printed or handwritten book you can photograph clearly. Asfar works best with well-lit pages, minimal page curvature, and standard print sizes. Languages currently supported for the input page: Arabic and English. Output narration: Arabic or English.

Is it free?

Every new account gets a free starting credit balance — enough to convert several full chapters. After that, additional credits are available as one-time in-app purchases. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

How accurate is the narration?

We use frontier vision and language models for extraction and translation, and a state-broadcaster-grade voice with proper Arabic diacritisation for the narration. Pages with unusual fonts, heavy marginalia, or damaged scans may produce errors. You can re-photograph a page at any time.

How do I delete my account?

Open the Asfar app → Settings → Account → Delete Account. Your account, library, uploaded images, and generated audio will be permanently deleted within 30 days. If you'd rather email us, send a request from your registered email to privacy@areen.ai.

I bought credits but they didn't appear

The most common cause is a delay in Apple's purchase notification. Force-close the app and reopen it; the balance usually updates within a minute. If credits still don't appear after five minutes, email support@areen.ai with your Apple receipt number and we'll resolve it.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and select the Asfar purchase you want refunded. Apple makes the final decision. We're happy to help by letting Apple know we don't object to the refund — just email us and we'll respond promptly.

Is my data shared with anyone?

No. We never sell or share your data for advertising. Page images and text are processed by Google Cloud and OpenAI as part of the extract/translate/narrate pipeline; see our Privacy Policy for the full list of processors.

Is the app available on Android or the web?

Not yet. Asfar is currently iPhone-only. We will announce other platforms here when they are ready.
